Our Mission

Our mission is to empower, equip and ignite the passion for injured or disabled makers in the U.S. with their craft. Disabled makers often encounter unique challenges that may limit their full potential. The Maker Community Project is a NJ based non-profit organization who seeks to stand in the gap and provide these amazing people with the tools and equipment needed to perform their jobs and enjoy their hobbies. We also offer support to makers in need of assistance during crisis or hardship. Our non-profit organization reviews nominations and works to align resources to suitable recipients who have been nominated for our grants.

We hope that you’ll join our mission to supply these makers with the tools and opportunities to build great projects! Take a look through the website or on our social media links to learn more about the team and find out how you can be involved.

Our team consists of woodworkers, fabricators, sign makers, welders and DIY-ers. We share a passion for the art of making, regardless of the medium.

Our previous giveaway of the Stepcraft M.1000 raised $16,000!! We then choose a recipient based on your nominations and purchased him all new shop equipment. Proceeds raised during the OMTECH Sweepstakes will go towards helping our next recipient. Please dont hesitate to nominate a maker in need if you know of one.
