Meet Our Recipients

The bios in this section may not represent all of the nominations we have received. Nominees have the option to include their story to share with others, but it is not a requirement to be featured. We are truly thankful to those wonderful people who have chosen to nominate a maker; our project would not be as successful without your generous efforts.

We ask that you respect the individuals represented here and their stories. Please do not contact the nominees without the express written consent of the Maker Community Project. The nominees represented here within have undergone screening to ensure fairness in the process. To learn more about the nomination process we encourage you to check out the Services tab.

  • Brady Born

Oct 2021: Brady is a cancer survivor and now has special abilities. Brady’s situation has left him with a new outlook on life, and we’re here to help him anyway we can.

Married to the most amazing woman ever, together they have 5 beautiful children. Brady was a finish carpenter prior to his injury, but that hasn’t stopped him. He now finds himself in the garage making things for around the house. We’re compiling a list of equipment and tools that can help Brady and his family in their day to day. This is where our amazing partners come into play!

Want to help? Please consider making a donation! All proceeds go towards our mission of empowering and equipping makers with disabilities and those in need.

  • Eric Hampton

July 2021: Eric is a woodworker who resides in Colorado. He was involved in a traumatic motorcycle accident a few years back which has left him with some struggles in his day-to-day life. Along with his Inventables CNC Machine, he creates beautiful wooden American flags for his local community. Due to the injuries sustained in the motorcycle accident, Eric was left with some fine motor skill challenges which increased his risk of injury when operating certain equipment. Eric had injured himself using his Dewalt contractor table twice in a short period of time. He was nominated to be the recipient of a SawStop Contractor saw, along with an assortmenet of hand tools from our partner Spec-Ops. With some left over funds, we purchased numerous accessories to create a safer work environment and increase his efficiency. Eric sells his woodwork and flags locally under his company, Signature Wood Co.
